Auto Body Repair Process

Schedule vehicle for repairs
  1. Confirm loss to insurance company

    • Obtain claim number
    • Customer needs assessed
  2. Write Estimate

    Shop inspects vehicle to find all damage that occurred during accident*
    • Coverage confirmed
    • Payment policy reviewed
    • Project completion date
    • Repair order signed
    While estimates are very thorough, there is often hidden damage that cannot be seen during the initial estimate.
  3. Review estimate with insurance company for approval
  4. Schedule vehicle for repairs

    • Parts ordered so available when car dropped off
    • If rental is needed, appraiser will arrange a rental car for drop off day
  5. Vehicle Drop-off

    • Sign Authorization for Repairs
    • Rental Car if needed
  6. Repair process begins
  7. Vehicle is disassembled and re-inspected

    • Vehicle torn down and blue-printed for necessary repairs
    • It is during this stage that hidden damage is often discovered
    a) Supplement written
         • (if necessary)
         • Additional parts may be required
    b) Revised completion date
    c) Customer informed
  8. Repairs continue

    • Technicians remanufacture the vehicle to restore it to its pre-accident condition
  9. Vehicle inspected prior to painting
  10. Vehicle primed/sanded/sealed and masked

    • This process helps the paint stick while preventing overspray
  11. Vehicle painted

    • During the painting stage all vehicles are primed and sealed to assure good adhesion when the final top color and clear coats are applied
  12. Vehicle reassembled

    • Final moldings and detail pieces are put back on during this stage
  13. Vehicle cleaned
  14. Final inspection
  15. Repairs completed
  16. Customer Notified
  17. Vehicle Pick Up

    • Repairs are reviewed with customer for satisfaction
